The Young at Heart Get in on the Halloween Action

Alice Maeder wins first prize for the "spider lady" costume she made herself.

Who said Halloween is just for kids?

Everyone joined in on the fun at the Town of East Hampton's senior citizens nutrition center on Wednesday, where a festive Halloween lunch and costume contest was held.

At the end, there were three winners. Alice Maeder, of Sag Harbor, took home first prize, a gift certificate, thanks to her "spider lady" costume that she sewed together herself over the past few days during the storm. "I try to keep young by doing this," she said.

Audrey Horton's Lucy Ricardo costume made everyone nostalgic and won her second prize. Judy Kuneth, of Amagansett, acted as royalty for the day, dressing as "Queen Mum," white gloves and all.
