Community Corner

Free Community Health Fair

To help educate the community about the importance of proper diabetes management, The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation, South Fork Community Health Initiative and Southampton Hospital will sponsor a Diabetes Awareness Health Fair on Friday, November 4th, in recognition of National Diabetes Awareness Month.

The event will be held at the Most Holy Trinity Church school building (44 Meadow Way, East Hampton, parking available behind Church), from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Educational information on diabetes detection and prevention will be available, and other highlights will include free glucose, total cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV screenings and STI tests. Free flu shots will be available for the first 100 attendees (18 years and older). Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with a health insurance representative and receive information about HEAP and Project Warmth, home heating assistance programs, and food stamps. Attendees may also make appointments for no-cost mammogram and pap tests, and receive applications for colorectal screenings. Healthy refreshments will be served.
