MONTAUK PARTY FOR DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES TO BE HELD AT SHAGWONG RESTAURANT

The Democratic candidates in the upcoming November election will be meeting with Montauk residents at Montauk’s iconic Shagwong Restaurant on Friday, September 20th  5- 8 p.m., thanks to the generous hospitality of Shagwong’s Jimmy Hewitt. For a $5 contribution Montauk residents will be treated to an open bar, free food and an Irish band and the opportunity to meet and talk with the Democratic candidates.

 

Among those present will be Supervisor candidate Larry Cantwell and Town Board candidates Job Potter and Kathee Burke-Gonzalez; Steve Tekulsky running for Town Justice; Montauk’s own Eugene de Pasquale for Assessor and Town Trustee candidates led by incumbents Deb Klughers and Steve Lester.

“In the spirit of  the well-attended Montauk ‘Listen-in’ Forum held on  July 29th, this is another opportunity for Montauk residents to have their voice heard on issues important to Montauk, including protecting the coastline and ensuring the appropriate balance between the tourist economy and residents'  quality of life,” said Larry Smith of Montauk’s Democratic Committee.
