Kingdom Animalia Exhibition - Art Tour in Sag Harbor

Join curator Kathy Zeiger as she leads an art tour discussing the current exhibition, Kingdom Animalia, at Dodds and Eder in Sag Harbor on Friday, October 11th at 7PM.  Come early, the Dodds and Eder TWILIGHT LOUNGE opens at 6PM.  Hear the inspiration behind the art – why did the artist(s) choose to work with animals? What is their connection? Light refreshments and soothing drinks will be served in the lounge, free of charge. Dodds and Eder is located at 11 Bridge Street (about 100 feet behind Main Street). A large (and free) parking lot located adjacent to Dodds and Eder, entrance from Bridge Street. For additional information, contact Kathy Zeiger at 917.239.0493.

Kingdom Animalia is a group exhibition featuring the following artists: Colin Goldberg, Dan Welden, David Bonagurio, Llewelynn Fletcher, Marc Dimov, Mark Wilson, Rachel Meuler, Randy Willier, Roz Dimon, Scott Bluedorn, Steve Miller, Vito DeVito and Will Ryan.

Animals, indigenous to various habitats on and off the East End of Long Island, rely upon humans to be their environmental stewards for generations forward.  This group exhibition features contemporary artists, each one interpreting a personal connection, purposeful or organic.  The artists express their response to living among animals in a shared environment that exists as a fragile tension, warranting attention and revelation. Understanding an animal’s vulnerability or being a witness to the quiet dignity these animals express compels us towards awareness, reflection and action.
