The Seafood Shop's Annual Polar Bear Plunge to Benefit Phoenix House

The Seafood Shop invites you to dive into the New Year - and the Atlantic Ocean, to benefit Phoenix Houses of LI, at the fourteenth annual Seafood Shop Polar Bear Plunge.

Enthusiastic Polar Bear swimmers & spectators will gather at Beach Lane Beach in Wainscott at 2:00 PM on New Year’s Day to take the plunge – with hundreds joining for this annual east end tradition.

Polar Bear participants and observers can sign up in advance at The Seafood Shop or right on the beach on New Year’s Day. Following fun in the surf, staff and students of the Phoenix House Academy of Long Island will be at the Seafood Shop to collect donations and answer questions about Phoenix House and the Academy’s mission. The Seafood Shop is located at 356 Montauk Hwy., Wainscott, NY. Join us to warm up after the plunge at the beach - refreshments will be served.

Phoenix House runs substance abuse treatment and prevention programs for adults and adolescents, including the Phoenix House Academy of Long Island in Wainscott.
