All are welcome to join CCOM at their 43rd Annual Meeting. This year’s forum topic will be Coastal Erosion with two renowned guest speakers - Orrin Pilkey, a James B. Duke Professor Emeritus of Earth and Ocean Sciences at Duke University, a marine and coastal geologist, specializing in the study of barrier islands and the impact of humans on our shorelines; and Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, "Dr. Beach", Professor and Director of
the Laboratory for Coastal Research at Florida International University. Prior
to joining FIU, Stephen was Professor and Director of the Laboratory for
Coastal Research at the University of Maryland, Director of the National Park
Research Unit at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Assistant
Professor in the Department of Geology at Boston University.
This is certain to be a very informative and interesting discussion.
