Welcome to the East Hampton Democrats Blog

Welcome to the East Hampton Democrats Blog. We are beginning a weekly blog on the Patch. This will be an informational forum for the residents of East Hampton. We would like to encourage you to join us for educational purposes, parties, and lively debates on a multitude of topics that exist in East Hampton.

Who are we?

The East Hampton Democratic Town Committee has two members for each of the 19 election districts of our multi-faceted town. An official organization of the Democratic Party, we mount campaigns, carry nominating petitions, and get out the vote for Democratic candidates at all levels of government. We are the vocal, supportive constituency for our Democratic officials. But our challenge first and foremost is to represent our constituents’ interests. We are committed to a community that works for everyone.

Over the years, we have taken the leadership in protecting East Hampton’s environment and preserving its historic landscape. Your local Democratic party has led in the provision of social services to youth and adults and in efforts to develop affordable housing. Throughout our town, residents today are struggling with serious, unaddressed problems.  We welcome your input and encourage you to reach out to us to voice your concerns.

Democrats held “listen-ins” during the last campaign to identify issues of particular concern in each hamlet. The public responses became the Democratic agenda, published on our website at www.ehdems.com. You can also sign up for out monthly newsletter.

Our monthly meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month at St. Michael’s Lutheran church in Amagansett.  You can also email us with any questions at info@ehdems.com.

To see how we pursue it, we hope you will follow our blog.
