Steven Tekulsky for Town Justice

"Steven Tekulsky has been a practicing attorney for more than 35 years, with much of that time spent in court rooms throughout New York State. After graduating from St. John's University School of Law in 1977, Steven was appointed an Assistant District Attorney in New York County where he spent 4 years prosecuting serious felonies from gun possessions to homicides. For the next 8 years he was a civil trial attorney, trying sophisticated medical malpractice and products liability cases for a NYC firm where he started out as an associate and became a partner. For the past 25 years, Steven has had his own practice in East Hampton, representing local families in every type of case that is handled in Justice Court, as well as other criminal and civil matters.

Steven and his wife, Stephanie, have lived in East Hampton for more than 25 years and , and have raised their children Alexander and Kylie here. They went to the East Hampton public schools, graduated from East Hampton High School, went away to college and have returned here to live and work.

Steven has been dedicated to serving East Hampton in the years that he has lived here:

  • Former Chief of the East Hampton Fire Department and 25 year member;
  • Appointed Member of the East Hampton Town Board of Assessment Review for 5 years
  • Pro Bono representation of Citizens for Access Rights (CFAR), East Hampton Sportsmen’s Alliance and the Pediatric Dental Fund and many other groups and individuals

“The edge, to us, is not based on courtroom experience. It’s more about paying dues and immersing oneself in the community. Tekulsky, a longtime firefighter and former chief, has done that. We are also impressed with how many people known him and respect him. The fact that 2 former Town Justices endorsed him also counts.”

Steven has been endorsed by retired East Hampton Town Justices James R. Ketcham and Roger W. Walker, Candidate for E.H. Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell and N.Y.S. Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr."
