Afton is renowned in this community for getting things done. She has called East Hampton home since she moved here with her husband to his hometown nearly 20 years ago. Afton has worked for and been an active and valuable member of many local organizations, including The East Hampton DayCare Center, The Children’s Museum of the East End, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, the Ladies’ Village Improvement Society of East Hampton, and the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons. She has also served as a member of the Board for both the LWVH and the LVIS.
Much of her leisure time is spent sailing the harbors and bays with her family. Protection of these waterways and our beaches will be the focus of Afton’s work as a Trustee. She is dedicated to working on beach cleanups, providing incentives for students to appreciate their local heritage and to the need for a sensitive approach to the use of our resources. Asa mother, Afton is committed to improving our quality of life for our children today and for future generations. As Trustee she will work to protect our drinking water and sea life from toxins and to help preserve our beautiful beaches. Afton’s commitment and integrity will be valuable assets to the Trustees.
