Weekend Spotlight: LobsterFest Benefit Cooking on Saturday

Three clubs will raise money for local charities.

Get your bibs and mini-forks ready for , taking place from on Saturday at a private estate in East Hampton Village.

The East Hampton Rotary Club, the Montauk Lions and the Kiwanis Club of East Hampton Foundation will sponsor a dinner to benefit local charities. The three clubs will decide which local charities to give the money to after the event when profits will be split three-ways.

So far between 150 and 200 guests are expected to attend, and the sponsors expect many walk-ins, according to rotary club board member Pat Gilchrest. Organizers have prepared about 350 lobsters, Gilchrest said.

The rotary club has spearheaded the event and partnered with Kiwanis and the Montauk Lions to organize the dinner. All of the items on the menu, including the seafood, are from local distributors.

Guests will enjoy a dinner of lobster, clams, mussels, hamburgers and hot dogs with side dishes that corn, potatoes, cole slaw and watermelon. Singer-songwriter Inda Eaton will perform throughout the dinner.

For those who cannot stay for the feast, take out orders are available.
The event will take place at the Gardiner Estate, 36 James Lane, in East Hampton.

The price is $45 at the door for adults, $40 in advance, and $5 for children under 12. For more information call 631-238-5257.
