EAST HAMPTON MAN ARRESTED IN MOB STRIP CLUB SCHEME: , the owner of The Hampton Pool Company, was arrested Wednesday on federal charges along with accused members and associates of the Gambino and Bonanno crime families after a racketeering and extortion fraud investigation involving strip clubs.

COPS ASK PUBLIC'S HELP IN FINDING PANTY RAIDER: East Hampton Town police are looking for in a burglary at a Stephen Hands Path residence the day after Thanksgiving.

FORMER FIRE CHIEF, STATE PARKS POLICEMAN DIES: unexpectedly at his home in West Melbourne, FL, on Nov. 30. He was 76. A wake will be held at Yardley and Pino in East Hampton on Sunday and Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. each day and a Mass will be said at St. Therese in Montauk on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

INSULATION BURNED THANKS TO STOVE TOP LEFT ON AT HAMPTON MARKET PLACE: When the East Hampton Village deli was damaged by fire earlier this month, five firefighters went to the hospital with breathing problems. Fire Marshal Ken Cullum said this week that a burner had been left on before the fire broke out and 30-year-old insulation may have caused the firemen to feel ill.

TEENS WHO DREW SWASTIKAS CAUGHT AND THEY'RE NOT VOLLEYBALL TEAM PLAYERS: Three students -- two from East Hampton and one from Westhampton Beach -- have been found, though it doesn't appear charges will be filed. East Hampton School District Interim Superintendent Richard Burns announced on Thursday afternoon that the three students trespassed in the boys lockers and were not members of the boys volleyball team, which were initially said to be the only ones with access to the room.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS FIRM UP TRUSTEE WINNERS: When all the absentee ballots were counted on Thanksgiving Eve, the . Debbie Klughers, who looked to have the last seat on the East Hampton Town Trustees on Election Night, , picking up 450 votes in the absentees ballots.

TOWN HALL OVERFLOWS WITH SPEAKERS AT HEARING ON FAA MONEY FOR AIRPORT: At a much-anticipated public hearing Thursday night, at town hall on the topic of whether or not the town should accept federal funding which would be used to construct a deer fence at East Hampton Airport.

HOOK MILL MIGHT BE DONE IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: For those who look forward to seeing East Hampton Village lit up for Christmas, consider this an early present: Last restoration efforts on the historic Hook Mill have been ramped up just in time for St. Nick to ride into the village on his sleigh.

LION'S CLUB RAISES AWARENESS OF FOOD PANTRY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON: The East Hampton Lions Club handed out candy canes with notes about the food pantry attached to raise awareness of the pantry's needs at the on Saturday.
