AMAGANSETT MAN, TUSKEGEE AIRMAN, HONORED: Lee Hayes, 89, of Amagansett, was honored on Wednesday for his World War II service as a Tuskegee airman and bomber pilot, as part of the Suffolk County Historical Society's Black History Month photo exhibit celebrating the contributions of Hayes and the Tuskegee Airman. ANOTHER DELAY FOR EAST HAMPTON LIBRARY'S EXPANSION: After eight years of meetings and a landmark court decision, supporters of the East Hampton Library's expansion project found it frustrating that a final sign off was put off another few weeks.

FIGHT OVER MONTAUK GREEN LEADS TO WAR: The Montauk veterans and artists are at odds over which group should get to use the Village Green Memorial Day weekend, but it would also appear an all-out war has begun over the green's intended purpose.

CAMERAS COULD REPLACE TICKET MACHINES IN VILLAGE LOTS: In an effort to cut costs and perfect the parking system in municipal lots, the East Hampton Village Board is considering using video to track the amount of time cars park in the lots and distribute tickets to those who stay too long.

FOOD TRUCK CONCESSION REDO: Mobile food concession in the Town of East Hampton, which caused a to-do when longtime food trucks almost lost their spots in beach parking lots, will be slightly different this year.

LOWER THAN EXPECTED OFFER ON TOWN'S PANTIGO PLACE UNITS: At a work session on Tuesday, Deputy Supervisor Theresa Quigley said the town has received an offer of $1.2 million on four of the seven town-owned co-op units at the 300 Pantigo Place office complex. An appraisal on all the units was at $3.7 million.

SPRINGS TEACHERS READY FOR SALARY FREEZE: According to a statement from the Springs Teachers' Association, a tentative agreement with the board of education has been reached that would include salary freezes and benefit concessions totaling over half-a-million dollars in savings to the district.

HIGH SCHOOL NAMES TOP OF THE CLASS: The valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2012 at East Hampton High School is Cameron Yusko, of Wainscott, and Tania Uruchima, of East Hampton, respectively.
