VIDEO: Old Fireplace Under Siege

Raymond Hartjen posted this video on YouTube Monday during Hurricane Sandy.

We haven't seen the worst of Hurricane Sandy, but you might think we have, judging by the video that Raymond Hartjen posted from his vantage point on Old Fireplace Road in Springs. On any day, he has one of the most spectacular views on Gardiner's Bay, but today he describes it as being "under siege."

To Mr. Hartjen and all of our East Hampton Patch readers, please be safe! And, thank you to everyone who is sending in video and photos, uploading them on Patch, and keeping in touch.
