Snow Drifting Leads To Trouble on the Roads

Highway superintendent asks motorists to drive carefully.

On this blustery President's Day, winds are whipping snow around on the roads.

"Be careful driving around today. There is a lot of drifting," said East Hampton Town Highway Superintendent Stephen Lynch on Monday morning. Highway workers are plowing the areas that are prone to drifting.

One car got stuck on Town Lane in Amagansett early on Monday morning. Lynch suggested avoiding that area.

While it's sunny, and a high of 31 degrees is expected, the west wind is moving 17 to 21 mph. The wind chill is 4 degrees.
