The community will come together to mourn the loss of , an East Hampton pastor and custodian, at his church on Friday and Saturday.
Hopson died unexpectedly on Monday. He was 59.
Services will be held at the , where Hopson preached, at 60 Spinner Lane (formerly Cross Highway) in East Hampton.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by a funeral on Saturday.
The will have an honor guard at the wake, as the reverend was also the department chaplain since 2004. His son Earl Hopson Jr. is also a detective.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Marvin Dozier will officiate. Internment will follow at the Edgewood Cemetery on Edgewood Road in Bridgehampton.
