Report Roundup: Hamptons a July 4th Hub for Celebs, Socialites

Celebrities, athletes, and socialites took to the Hamptons this weekend to celebrate America.

There were certainly more stars than stripes on the East End this weekend to ring in Independence Day, according to several national and local celeb sites.

While some were out to enjoy the parties others were working through the weekend, showing that the Hamptons, as usual, was the place to be on July 4th.

Patch compiled a few celebrity appearances, including a basketball player's sighting that could upset Knicks fans, a weekend getaway for a powerful teen couple, and a hearthrob actor's verbal altercation with a bouncer.

The star scene is abuzz with supposed sightings of teen sensation Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez enjoying a holiday in the Hamptons over the weekend. Though no legitimate photos have floated around The Daily News reports the couple hung out on the yacht Inspiration in Sag Harbor with Russell Simmons and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

The Daily News also reports that actor Josh Hartnett was denied entry to the Memory Bar & Motel in Montauk on Sunday night after attempting to cut the line. According to witnesses a bouncer commented on his lackluster performances after the actor claimed he had the right to go in to the bar without waiting.

The New York Post's Page Six reports that the director for rapper Kanye West's new video was spotted scouting locations in Montauk. Sources say Hype Williams, who has worked with hip-hop royalty including Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and LL Cool J, traveled to Montauk with photographer Michael Dweck attended the opening party for in Nappeague before trekking out to the beaches to snap photos.
