Photos: Large Turnout for Soaking Wet Memorial Day Parade

East Hampton braved wet weather to honor those who have served.

As the East Hampton Memorial Day Parade began on Monday, it began to pour. Motorcycle cops led the parade without rain gear, Boy Scouts and Brownie troops splashed about as they marched behind veterans and those along the parade route cheered them all on with applause and praise. Despite the continuing rain, it was one of the largest turnouts in recent memory. 

A ceremony followed on the Memorial Green in front of Hook Mill after a march down Main Street. There, the 2011 VFW school awards were announced:
