Over 600 Without Power Saturday Night

Nor'easter has left downed wires and trees.

10:30 p.m.: Power has been restored.

With winter arriving early on this last Saturday of October, East Hampton may have dodged snow, but we didn't dodge weather-related problems.

The nor'easter brought heavy, wet snow along with winds to the mid-Atlantic states and up through New England, with 10 inches of accumulation expected in some places according to the Wall Street Journal.

On the South Fork, according to the Long Island Power Authority's power outages website at 9:30 p.m., 617 customers were affected in East Hampton Village, just east of Wainscott. It was lights out an Halloween party.

A few others were without power in Northwest Woods and Springs.

They were all expected to get back power by 11:30 p.m., according to LIPA.

In the Town of Southampton, over 2,500 customers were without power at the same time. They were mainly located in East Quogue and North Sea, though there were some without power in Hampton Bays, Sag Harbor and Sagaponack.
