No Village Beach Driving Allowed for Main Beach Fireworks

Due to hurricane-related erosion, driving the beaches is a no-go this year.

If it's not the Piping Plovers, it's hurricane damage. 

While the East Hampton Village has been permanently moved from the Fourth of July to Labor Day Weekend, this year those organizing the display have to contend with Hurricane Irene damage.

The fireworks show is still scheduled to take place at will starting at dark on Saturday night.

However, due to erosion, the will not be allowing any vehicles onto the beach.

Also, due to at nearby , there will be no one allowed on the beach at Georgica. An area of the parking lot was compromised by Hurricane Irene and the foot path had been blocked for safety, village police said.

There will be no beach fires allowed at the head of the beaches, in congested areas, and no alcohol is permitted. 

The will be setting up for the show on Friday and Saturday morning.
