Military Convoy Here for Funeral

Vehicles were on the East End for a funeral, according to a report from News 12.

The armored vehicles seen throughout the East End over the past two days were here for a military funeral, according to News 12 Long Island.

A convoy of military vehicles had been spotted at and later in Montauk on Thursday. Then on Friday, they were , followed by an unconfirmed report of a submarine off Orient.

News 12 reported on Friday evening that the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs said they were amphibious vehicles practicing for a funeral procession and then a part of a procession on Friday. The station was not able to find out whose funeral it was.

The M1117s are rugged armored security vehicles known as the Guardian. It can cross water depths of 5 feet, climb gradients of 60 percent and can get over vertical obstacles of 2 feet high, according to army-technology.com.

The other story is that a military submarine was passing through the area and that military vehicles were scene in Orient and Montauk making sure they had safe passage

Total BS. I have it on good authority they were in Montauk because of a recent Fatwah on the Surf Lodge.

LONG ISLAND BE WEARY,THIS LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE LYING & SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF A FALSE FLAG ATTACK,OR THE BEGINNING OF MARTIAL LAW..C'MON WHEN DO THEY EVER USE AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT VEHICLES & A SUBMARINE FOR A FUNERAL PROCESSION? AND THEY WONT EVEN SAY WHO THIS EXTRAVAGANT FUNERAL IS FOR? WAKE UP PEOPLE THIS IS FISHY
Gail Simons March 3, 2012 at 04:22 pm
Who "practices" for a funeral?????? That's absurd! And then they don't even say WHO it's for? Give me a break. What a total line if crap. Is anyone really stupid enough to believe that? They expect us to be that stupid....
ALLY CALDERONE March 3, 2012 at 04:33 pm
bingo..I'm glad not every person is dumb downed & naive..I hope my friends & family will be ok if it's a false flag attack or some kind of catastrophe that they're preparing for..

Who cares, those things look awesome, what a way to handle east end traffic.

Paranoia will destroy ya!
Relax. I don't think they would be stopping for lunch at Townline BBQ if they were not just practicing and putting some miles on some new vehicles, as other news outlets have reported. Gotta love winter in the Hamptons. Too many rumors, not enough thought.

LOL love the jargon. "Sounds like a false flag attack." Seriously people come on. Put down the iphone and get outside once in a while. If it were a "catastrophe" or "martial law", don't you think you'd know about it by now?

If in fact there is a submarine connection with the story, as reported, off of Orient Point, and it is not unusual to see subs in the Sound with a base in Groton, New London, there is a VERY remote possibility the nuclear reactor on board the sub may have mal-functioned. Hence, the presence of military amphibious vehicles
for the past two days on both forks east of the William Floyd Parkway. If a sub was dead in the water, the presence of the military would be a safeguard, in case needed. Such an accident, would more than likey be covered up until the situation was brought under control. Probably the crews of MP's in the M1117s would not even know the circumstances of thier mission unless it was a need to know. The funeral story does however sound like a cover. I wonder where their, (the M1117s) staging area has been for the past couple of days. I suspect some area not far from Riverhead.

For all of you worriers, i suggest that you prepare yourselves for a so called catastrophe, remember the second amendment...exercise it! Have all necessary survival gear at the ready in your "Go to place". If you don't know what i'm talking about, look it up on the internet. All that anyone can do is be prepared. Being prepared might help you sleep better at night. For those of you who DO NOT find sense in My advice i leave you with one more attempted piece of advice, When you find yourself staring "catastrophe" in the face, simply put your head between your legs and kiss your a** goodbye. i apologize for my horrible grammar.

Here's what I found out from reliable sources. The Brits are planning to take back Gardiner's Island and return it to the Montauketts who will then sell it to the Pequots for a Foxwoods gambling casino. The sub and amphibious vehicles are here to repel the attack. Run for your lives...

As long as it was the US Military, I'm not sure I see the reason for concern.

The government probably had intelligence that a unspecified facility on eastern Long Island was going to be targeted by terrorists on or about March 1st. Plum Island or Brookhaven Natl. Lab comes to mind. Most likey explanation if it was not a funeral.

I heard that they were sent by Tim Bishop's office to reclaim the North Fork, after he told us all last week that he gets all the federal money, and then he "appropriates" it to projects on the South Fork, not the North Fork. So, in order to quash a potential rebellion against his rule in Southold... tanks were sent ;-)

My neighbor to the east said they saw a large flying object (dare we say UFO) off and on over the north sky for the last 2 weeks. That would explain the submarines and these armored vehicles with their special antennaes. Hope they're not here to beam-up ma. They won't be able to satisfy her needs, I don't care how many of them there are!
Bruce March 4, 2012 at 06:49 pm
Prove me wrong Tom, you can't! I'm not talking about a reactor meltdown or nonsence like that. It's never happen aboard a U.S. sub, and probably never will. I am talking about a reactor scram. Afterwards, there may have been some type of difficulty with reactor startup. If you have a 2 to 4 billion dollar piece of equipment sitting dead in the water, off shore, I guarantee you there will be a contingent of military police assigned to the area until the vessel is underway again.
Other than that, if there was indeed a submarine connection to the story, off Orient Point, it may well have been a Homeland Security exercise for a couple of days with a sub assigned to a sector off the Plum Island Animal Disease Lab. Hey man, it's something to show for the department's annual 43 billion dollar budget.

Yikes.. if I talked such nonsense I'd be Anonymous too. BTW... I sleep great at night. Except when those black helicopters circle my house.

What projects, more likely that federal money landed in his back pocket or his friends.
Bub Watch March 5, 2012 at 04:12 pm
Submarines off of Orient is nothing new. New London CT has one of the largest submarine bases in the USA. Also, those armored vehicles are not amphibious. They are tall so they can get through deep water but they are by no means buoyant. Wow people!
That being said, Hide your kids, Hide your wife!

A military spokesman says the vehicles were not, in fact, here for a funeral. Rather, they were on the road for "driver familiarity training." Here's the story: http://southampton.patch.com/articles/military-armored-vehicles-here-for-driver-training

WOW! The ONLY HOPE FOR AMERICA IS DIVINE INTERVENTION THROUGH REPENTANCE TO ALMIGHTY GOD. AND WE SHALL HAVE IT!
warriorgal March 10, 2012 at 05:03 am
Funny. I am just returning from prayer which makes those vehicles look like Tonga Toy Trucks. Let the God who IS GOD, BEGIN NOW TO DEMONSTRATE HIS POWER!

The ONLY E.T. we need to concern ourselves of is Jesus the Christ. He came from Heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the tree our debts were paid. (how we need him now) From the tree to the grave, from the grave to the sky, Jesus the Christ WILL COME AGAIN AND EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM AND EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS... JESUS CHRIST LORD.
warriorgal March 10, 2012 at 05:09 am
John, as long as there is NO REPENTANCE UNTO ALMIGHTY GOD, and Obama is in our House called White, there is GREAT CONCERN. WAKE UP MY FELLOW AMERICANS 22 NAVY SEALS DIED IN ONE CHOPPER???? ONLY DIVINE INTERVENTION AND TRUE HEARTFELT REPENTANCE WILL SAVE OUR GLORIOUS NATION.
