LIPA: Outages Down to 2,500 in East Hampton

The number of homes and businesses without power is dropped 1,500 from Tuesday.

The Long Island Power Authority is reporting that 2,457 customers in East Hampton Town are still waiting for their power to be restored following Tropical Storm Irene.

The number is down from about 4,000 LIPA customers who were in the dark Tuesday afternoon. In Southampton Town, 6,456 are reported to be without power.
