Joe Biden Hits the Hamptons, Causes Delays on Roads

Traffic diverted and backed up on Montauk Highway and County Road 39 in Water Mill and Southampton.

Vice President Joe Biden arrived on the South Fork on Friday for a fundraiser to support the re-election of President Obama — and plenty of people took notice.

Patch received reports of heavy traffic in Southampton and Water Mill as the vice president's motorcade prepared to drive through both towns toward Bridgehampton, where the fundraiser was being held.

The FAA placed  beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and ending on Saturday at 1 a.m., though the vice presiden seemed to have arrived around 5 p.m.

One person on Twitter told us that Biden's plane landed at Gabreski Airport in Westhampton on Friday morning around 9:45 a.m. We wonder what he did in the interim. . .
