While the East Hampton area braces for more snow, there are some important events around town that are worthwhile. Perhaps Mother Nature can ward off the snow for a bit?

1. First, a weather update: Snow showers will start early on Friday morning, coming down heavy at times, with about two to four inches expected, according to forecasters. It will continue into the evening with about one to three inches of accumulation. Superintendent Scott King told East Hampton Patch he and his crew are prepared and have their trucks ready to go.

2. At the East Hampton Town Board meeting on Thursday night, Amagansett citizens aired their grievances over the music festival that was approved to take place at Ocean View Farm in that hamlet over two days in August. We're working on a story from the two-hour long meeting. Check back on Patch later this afternoon.
