East Hampton Town Police Chief Ed Ecker said his department has received fewer weather-related calls than he expected. "I think tonight it will get worse because it's going to be very windy. We just haven't seen that yet."

Because the wind is expected to blow out of the northwest, he said even his department is "keeping an eye" on the erosion issues on the northside of Montauk and Amagansett.

"We'll have a lot of runoff with all the snow. The catch basins are going to fill up quick."

And, lookout, there's a chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday, according to the weather service.
