April 15: A Few More Days To Get Taxes Done, DA Talks Art Thefts, and Download the Patch App

Everything you need to know during crunch time of tax season.

April 15 is synonymous with tax deadlines, but this year, you've got a few extra days. Federal income tax returns aren't due in until Monday, April 18. If you haven't gotten started, it's crunch time.

1. If you've already sent in your taxes, than you surely have some time this morning to listen into on Friday morning. This Patch editor will be a guest on Bonnie Grice's "Radio Lounge" between 9 and 10 a.m., along with Dawn Watson of and Annette Hinkle of .

3. After the Radio Lounge, Patch is heading over to the meeting, where there will be a public hearing on a proposed law to ban smoking from certain outdoor places; the Pavillion and an area in . The meeting begins at 11 a.m.

4. Check back later on Patch for more information on the related to the stolen artwork in nearby Southampton Village. According to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, art work was also stolen from East Hampton Village and Southold Town homes. East Hampton Village police will be at a press conference in Riverhead and we'll bring you more from there as soon as it becomes available.

5. Local teen bands are raising money for the Springs Food Pantry at the , sponsored by , on Friday night. BrainCake, Human Error, Method 2 Madness, Copyright Infringement, Jewlee, and Sara Hartman will play at the , starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $8 at the door, $5 with a canned donation, and all proceeds benefit the food pantry.
