3 Years After Incident With Giuliani, Filmmaker Sues Southampton Town

John McCluskey, of Amagansett alleges character defamation, conspiracy, and false arrest, Newsday says.

Following an incident just more than three years ago with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, an Amagansett man has sued Southampton Town, alleging false arrest, defamation of character, and conspiracy, according to a Newsday article.

John McCluskey, a documentary filmmaker and author, was arrested on harassment charges — which were later dismissed — in May of 2009 after Giuliani said he was threatened by McCluskey in Bridgehampton. He and his wife Judi were leaving a Bridgehampton fair when McCluskey allegedly approached them, according to The New York Post at the time.

The two have a past, as McCluskey claims during his tenure as a prosecutor in Manhattan, Giuliani "falsely charged, harassed and relentlessly persecuted" him and his communications company, Arden Communications.
