- Protect and respect the dunes- they protect us!
- Teach your children about the sea.
- Support Marine and Environmental Education in our schools.
- Join the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation.
- Learn about marine life by a visit to the Long Island Aquarium.
- Only purchase sustainable seafood and ocean products.
- Don’t buy shark fin soup, shark cartilage capsules, coral jewelry, or (sea) snake oil remedies.
- Try BayScaping- go organic!
- Keep your septic system in good working order.
- Become a SCUBA diver, learn to surf, teach a kid to fish.

- While boating, watch out for sea turtles, whales, and other marine life.
- Go on a whale-watching trip.
- Join an environmental organization.
