PHOTOS: Suki Zuki's Sister Restaurant Opens in East Hampton

A new Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, called zok-kon, held a grand opening celebration on Tuesday.

Fans of Suki Zuki, the ever popular Japanese restaurant in Water Mill, won't have to travel as far for sushi. Suki Zuki's sister restaurant, zok-kon, has opened in East Hampton Village, at the restaurant that was formerly Shiki and Bamboo, at 47 Montauk Highway. Co-owners Feng Yunsheng and Toyo Kamatani packed the house on Tuesday night for a grand opening celebration.

Why are these restaurants Shiki and Bamboo so short-lived? Every time I went into either they were packed, especially at the bar. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the "New" endeavor. With all the fresh seafood out of Montauk, the sushi should be great!

Bamboo was great. It was sorely missed. Hope the new place is reasonable with good food.
