Let’s take a trip to Italy, but do me a favor … leave your luggage behind and bring a hungry stomach.
is the perfect place to indulge in Italian for lunch. From pastas to fan-favorite heroes and focaccia sandwiches, Luigi’s is sure to satisfy any foodie's taste buds. Menus surround the perimeter of the restaurant accompanied by glass cases filled with cheeses and pizzas that are sure to make your mouth water while you're standing in line
The Dish: The "F1": Fresh Mozzarella, Tomatoes, and Basil ($7.50)
What’s Inside: Nestled in a rosemary focaccia, this “small” sandwich is as fresh as they come. Fresh mozzarella, ripe red tomatoes, and the aroma of fresh basil may seem simplistic to most, but add Luigi’s homemade balsamic vinaigrette, and this sandwich is something that will keep you coming back for more. While you can order a large or small, the small leaves plenty of room to share, but like most, you will want to keep the rest for yourself.
How’s it Taste: The F1 was the perfect sandwich for the beautiful spring weather. I sat outside on the picnic bench and savored every bite of freshness that the sandwich had to offer, leaving me pleasantly full. With a simple, but perfect presentation, the sandwich stays intact ensuring you get mozzarella, tomato, basil and that perfect dressing with each bite.
Sides: The sandwich is served on its own. Fortunately, there are many choices to add to your sandwich or pick up as a side. I chose a San Pellegrino Limonata sparkling beverage. The perfect start to the summer season.
