Southampton Hospital Orderly Wins $20 Million Mega Millions

When a 48-year-old Southampton Hospital orderly stopped by a Shirley convenience store called JackSpot! Wednesday to check his MegaMillions lottery tickets, as is his custom, he got the surprise of his life: He'd won. To the tune of $20 million.

Identified only as Cameron, the winning player thought the machine must be broken, according to CBS Local. JackSpot! cashier Laura Marckesano said that the man couldn't grok that he'd won.

"He's not catching what I'm saying," said Marckesano, who scanned the ticket twice. "So I smacked his shoulder -- 'You won $20 million dollars!' That kind of woke him up."

Newsday reports the man will go public after meeting with lawyers and accountants, and is the  "mystery jackpot winner sought by the New York State Lottery since the March 25 drawing."
