Serena & Lily Opens in Wainscott Next Week

The textile company leased the location that housed Georgica Creek Antiques for 30 years.

The sign that went up Friday on the old Georgica Creek Antiques building announced Serena & Lily is the new business taking over the space.

A textile design company with collections of home decor, including bedding, upholstery, furniture, and women's accessories, it will be the first store for Serena & Lily.

Serena Dugan and Lily Kanter started in 2004 with 15 crib nursery collections that quickly grew a celebrity-mom fan base, including Jennifer Garner and Debra Messing.

Products are mainly sold LLP through its website and catalogs, as well as in department stores.

The finishing touches in the renovations are nearing completion. At the store on Friday after, Dugan said they plan to be open for Memorial Day weekend.

They have a design studio in Sausalito, CA.

In late January, Georgica Creek Antiques left the location at 332 Montauk Hwy., after 30 years. Mother-and-daughter team Jean and Sue Sinenberg weren't planning on shutting the doors, but they said they got an offer they couldn't refused to lease out the 3,000-square-foot space.

At the time, Sinenberg declined to say what business had leased the building.

An old Exxon garage, the Sinenbergs rented it since the 1970s, and purchased the building in the early 1990s.

Located just west of Wainscott Stone Road, Serena & Lily is next door to Rumrunner, a home furnishings store, and Wainscott Hardware.
