restaurant has a new GM, according to a statement from the restaurant.
Douglas Sheehan, a Sag Harbor resident, is taking over the day-to-day operations of the Wainscott eatery.
Sheehan most recently worked at the Waverly Inn in New York City. On the East End, he's worked at Robert's restaurant in Water Mill and Sapore di Mare in Wainscott.
“I am extremely grateful to have worked with such great chefs as Natalie Bynes, Dan Silverman, Terrance Brennan and John Delucie,” Sheehan said in a press release. “As someone who is detail-oriented and diligent about making sure everything goes smoothly, I look forward to improving the dining experience for all the guests at Rugosa.”
Of Sheehan, Bill Mammes, the chef and co-owner of Rugosa, said, "He has extensive experience in the restaurant business, having worked alongside some of the most respected names in the industry. I am confident that he will provide a memorable dining experience for our customers.”

He also managed nightclubs in Asia for a time.
His father Ed Sheehan, along with Bobby Thomas, opened the in Sag Harbor in 1994. Douglas’ sister, Stacy Sheehan and her partner, Elizabeth Barnes, now run the restaurant.
