Sag Harbor Biz Owners Reportedly Unhappy With Road Closures

Business owners say Bulova Watchcase Factory construction is blocking access to businesses, according to report on 27east.

According to a recent article on 27east, a handful of Sag Harbor business and homeowners surrounding the former Bulova Watchcase Factory — currently in the beginning steps of being renovated into upscale condos — are unhappy that construction is causing road closures around the village.

The report states that the individuals on the south side of the center cited loss of business due to parking difficulties, and gaining access to their homes.

One business owner, Susan Einhorn, was quoted as saying the following: “Our customers are unable to find parking since you closed Sage Street. If that’s what it’s like in December, nobody is going to come to Sag Harbor in the summer.”

Half of both Sage Street and Church Street are closed off, allowing one-way traffic at the moment. The report also says Mayor Brian Gilbride is unsure if traffic and parking on Washington Street will have to be limited at any point.
