Open for the Season: Pepalajefa in Sag Harbor

Gourmet food shop is back for a second summer.

Pepalajefa, a gourmet food shop in Sag Harbor Village specializing in European-inspired prepared dishes, has opened its doors for the 2013 season, and to celebrate, they are hosting an opening party on Saturday afternoon.

Located at 7 Main St., Pepalajefa first opened last summer, serving recipes inspired by owner Livia Hegner's family. The shop's name come from a restaurant owner whom she fondly called "Pepa la jefa" or "Pepa the boss" during a weekend trip to Altea, Spain.

Hegner, a full-time Sag Harbor resident, used to own a successful restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland.
