Great Escape: Dance Your Cares Away

It's time for your weekly Great Escape, whether it's on your own, with your significant other, or with a few of your equally-stressed pals.

's dance instructor Jamie Lerner has a great cure for your leftover winter lethargy and stress - dance, dance, dance your way to this week's Great Escape.

Lerner, who studied ballet, modern dance, ethnic, and jazz dancing for 17 years on both coasts, approaches her dance instruction with widely adaptive methods, so there's no need to be apprehensive, even if you've hardly danced before. As The Body Shop's bio says, "Jamie has helped hundreds of people look, feel, and move better."

Revive your old dance skills or start completely from dancin' scratch in East Hampton with Lerner's , in which you'll get a chance to try your skills at hip-hop, salsa, lyrical jazz, and funk styles.  Comfortable clothing is suggested for the class, and participants are asked to please wear dance footwear, indoor-only sneakers, or go barefoot.

The best part, in addition to the benefits and stress relief you'll get from the movement and fun of the dance itself, is that this class is extremely affordable, with just a donation requested.

Reserve a spot in the Monday night classes (class begins at 5:45 p.m.), telephone them at 631-324-6440, or email The Body Shop at patiacg@aol.com.

Hi Kristi -- a student who showed up at class tonight mentioned this to me so I did a search for my name and here it is. Just want to acknowledge it, and thank you. I don't know how long you keep these links active or whether you have time to update details, but FYI, people should contact me directly at 631-604-1462 or visit my web page, jamielerner.com. Thanks again -- Jamie

You're welcome, Jamie! The class sounded very interesting, so we thought it worthy of some extra attention. Hope it continues to go well for you!
