Navy Beach will host a French Riviera themed beach and boat party on Saturday, July 21st from 3 p.m. until sunset. Come by sea and moor your boat in the protected waters of Fort Pond Bay (NOS Station 8510560, 41° 02’ 45.11” N, -71° 57’ 44.8”W) or come by land and enjoy an afternoon of live music, guest DJ, 1950’s-style swimsuit contest, French themed cocktails, Calypso pop-up and more!

Live Music, Beachwear, Creative Cocktails & French Wine

Starting at 3 p.m. guests will enjoy the sounds of guest DJ Sammy and local reggae favorite Winston Irie (www.myspace.com/winstonirieval1).  Calypso St. Barth will host a pop-up shop featuring beachwear and accessories from their distinctive line of resort wear.  French themed cocktails will be featured including: The Monaco with Peroni, Sprite and grenadine; Lillet Blanc Apéritif with Lillet Blanc, splash of soda and an orange slice; Rosé et Reims with Lillet Rosé, champagne, grapefruit bitters and an orange twist; and Navy Beach cocktail favorites including the Saintgria Rosa with St. Germain, Rosé, peach and grapes; and the Aperol Spritz with Aperol, prosecco and fresh orange.  Bottles of Breezette Rosé and magnums of St. Tropez’x Cep d’Or will be flowing alongside Chandon’s Limited Edition Brut Classic 187ml minis, perfect for sipping with a straw!

1950’s-Style Swimsuit Contest

Dust off those old suits: Navy Beach will host a 1950’s-style swimsuit contest for the French Riviera party!  As swimsuits of the 1950s were part of the inspiration for style and décor at Navy Beach, guests are now invited to bring out their own styles!  In the 1940s when the country was at war, fabric was rationed in women’s swimsuits, leading to the creation of the bikini.  One of the infamous bikini bearing figures of the era was Bridget Bardot who flaunted the new style on the French Riviera and in the famed flick “And God Created Women.” Like Bardot, guests are encouraged to come in their 1950s style swimsuits.  The winner will be judged by local photographer James Katsipis, well known for his little blue chair portrait series and dramatic landscapes of Montauk.  The winner will receive a gift certificate good for dinner for two at Navy Beach featuring a chef’s tasting menu and a bottle of champagne.

The lunch and dinner menus will be offered during the party.  Reservations for tables can be made through Open Table, online at www.navybeach.com or by calling (631) 668-6868.  Select waterfront daybeds on the beach will be available for reservation during the party for a $300 minimum for the time slots of 12 – 4 p.m. or 4 – 8 p.m.
