Ring in the New Year at The Living Room

The Living Room Restaurant at c/o The Maidstone will celebrate New Year’s Eve Saturday, December 31st with an early evening a la carte dinner from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and a $125 four-course prix fixe dinner beginning at 9 p.m.  The menu for the second seating, which includes a glass of champagne, is as follows:

Swedish toast Skagen, baby shrimp, lemon crème fraiche, dill and caviar

First course

Choice of one

Wild mushrooms w/ a brandy, truffle cream and toasted brioche

Swedish country pate w/ pickled vegetables and mustard sauce

Howard Pickerell’s Peconic Pride oysters w/citron mignonette and caviar

Gravlax w/ potato pancakes, crème fraiche and Swedish caviars

Winter chicory salad, endive, trevisio, frisee w/ candied nuts, Mecox Bay cheddar cheese

and cider vinaigrette

 

Second course

Choice of one

Berkshire pork rillette ravioli w/ tomato bacon broth and Vasterbotten

Peconic Bay scallops w/ butternut squash risotto, cavolenero and Vasterbotten cheese

 

Third course

Choice of one

Venison loin grilled w/ braised red cabbage, candied sweet potatoes and pot wine sauce

Muscovy duck breast w/ parsnip puree, leek tart and lingonberry demi-glaze

“Veal Oscar” veal medallion, butter poached lobster, crisp potato cake and sauce Bearnaise

Roasted rack of lamb w/ a basil infused crust and ratatouille and potato puree

Local halibut w/ baby bok choy, shitake mushrooms, Maine shrimp and miso broth

 

Dessert course

Choice of one

Sticky toffee date cake w/ Elderberry flower frozen yogurt

Swedish ginger cake w/ marscapone mousse

Chocolate chestnut torte w/ Chantilly cream and lingonberry sauce

Mormor’s cookie plate w/ homemade chocolate truffles

Apple cranberry crisp w/ cinnamon streusel and maple walnut ice cream
