Sneak Peek: Renovations Inside the Westhampton Performing Arts Center

A renovation project in celebration of theWesthampton Beach Performing Arts Center's15th anniversary is moving forward and expected to be complete in early February — just in time for its first scheduled performance of 2013.

RIVERHEAD

New Nail Salon and Spa Opens In Riverhead

Divas looking for a bit of pampering will soon have another option in Riverhead.

On Friday, the brand-new Eastern Nails and Spa will open at 435 Osborn Avenue in Riverhead.

And owner Rose Nyugen is working to ensure the event is an "affair to remember." Working with her longtime friend, local philanthropist and reality show star Dhonna Goodale, Nyugen has planned a ribbon cutting grand opening celebration at 1 p.m. on Friday featuing traditional Vietnamese food, drinks, and free gifts.

VIDEO: Inside The American Hotel

During a trip to The American Hotel on Main Street in Sag Harbor Village, My Long Island TV spoke to General Manager Thomas Allnoch, Executive Chef Jonathan Parker and waiter Joseph Taylor, as well as patrons of the French-American restaurant and eight-room hotel.

Get a look inside the guest rooms at the hotel, built in 1846, and the popular bar and restaurant, which Zagat.com ranks at number 1 in Sag Harbor.

Surf Lodge Goes Skiing

Montauk’s Surf Lodge is expanding, The New York Post reported Tuesday.

The South Fork hotspot hopes to be just a big a hit in Park City, Utah, where it will open another location soon. The "Snow Lodge" will be located at Canyons Resort.

Southold Man Launches Knife Sharpening Service

For the past 15 years, Southold resident Bill Plock has been obsessed with custom knives — and perfecting the craft of keeping them sharp.

Plock, 46, works by day as a parts manager at Brewer Yacht Yard in Greenport and seasonally as a captain of the North Ferry to and from Shelter Island. In a basement work area, he’s been sharpening cutlery for friends and co-workers, but now he said he’s ready to launch a legitimate knife sharpening business to service the East End, Long Island Knife Works.

well after the town board meeting last night the way i see it is the whole town is affected andRead More everyting and everyweek is some one getting away with out paying , we have familys of teenagers sharing rooms with there parnets and siblngs , cause the cost of living , hmmm but no matter where you go it cost money , teachers have there work cut out for them if they have to spend 50 dollars to buy stuff its there choice , well what it boils down to is the childern parnetns rather drive cars and have nice clothes and fancy jelws than spend 5 or 1o dollars to pay for pens for there kids to go to schoo.also i dont feel the familys see what education really is is a free babysitting service thats my feelings ,
