Clam Bar Hosts Rufus Wainwright's Wedding Reception

Star-studded bash held along the Napeague Stretch.

In case you were wondering why the Clam Bar, along the Napeague Stretch, was closed on a day in the middle of August, it's because singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright married his longtime partner Jorn Weisbrodt held their wedding reception there on Thursday.

Wainwright and Weisbrodt were married at his home in Montauk, and then moved the star-studded guest list over to the , where a big white tent was erected transforming the road-side outdoor restaurant for the occasion.

oversaw the bash, which included 250 guests like Yoko Ono, Carrie Fisher, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Julianne Moore, Mark Ronson, jewelry designer Ann Dexter-Jones, artist Cindy Sherman, Jay McInierny, Sean Lennon, Alan Cumming and Ingrid Sischy.

We're told small jars of local plum jam inscribed with "Rufus+Jorn's Hochzeit" were given to each guest as party-favors. Individual sunflowers were at each place setting under a big white tent. Guests dined on a wedge salad with local cherry tomatoes, local steamers, lobster rolls, clam chowder and corn on the cob.

"The couple asked for money in lieu of physical wedding presents in order to pay off a 25-foot airstream and the wedding cake, made by Heather Barranco, paid homage to the one they ordered," according to which represents the Clam Bar. Performance artist Marina Abramovic and actor and comedian Irving Benson each toasted the couple.

Wainwright is the son of singers Loudon Wainwright III and the late Kate McGarrigle.
