I'll Have Another vies to be the 12th Triple Crown winner on Saturday at the Belmont. If you don't feel like making the trek west to Nassau County to watch what could be the first horse in 34 years to earn racing's biggest title, East Hampton has a fitting place to catch the action.
, a polo and equestrian-themed restaurant, lounge and outdoor beer garden, will host a Belmont Stakes viewing party.
The new restaurant opened at 103 Montauk Highway in East Hampton Village, at the former Beach House location, Memorial Day weekend.
The restaurant will be screening the race live and offering half-priced appetizers. Special cocktails will be served, including American Mules and Mint Juleps, as well as $5 16-ounce Brookly Summer Ale drafts.
Appetizers on the menu include Bourbon Glazed Skinless Chicken Wings, Scorched Shishito Peppers with Chipotle Aioli, and Lobster Avocado Bruschetta on Multi-Grain Crostini.
Reservations are not required.
The new restaurant is owned by nightlife and hospitality veteran Frank Cilione, Carolyn Levinbook, David Levinbook and Neil Levinbook. Carolyn Levinbrook is an event planner with 20 years experience.
“Players Club is not only equestrian themed, but it was also designed to be a destination where those in the neighborhood could catch their favorite sporting events," the new owners said. "All of these things, plus the fantastic food and drink specials we'll be offering on Saturday, make this the best spot in the Hamptons to catch the Belmont Stakes."
Chef Hector Diaz formerly lead the kitchen at The Forge in Miami, Le Flirt in East Hampton and Tsunami in Palm Beach. Signature dishes include Fresh Fish Tacos with Pico de Gallo and Cilantro-Lime Dressing; Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Potato-wrapped Prawns and Old Bay Essence;Roasted Half Chicken with Grilled Asparagus and Tarragon Jus; and Linguine de Mare with Shrimp, Clams, Mussels and Calamari inLemon, Garlic and White Wine.
