Bowling Alley Closure Means New Business Prospect

The property, zoned commercial, could serve as a restaurant, offices, or retail space, according to the village.

In less than two weeks, East Hampton Bowl will be no more, and while we don't know what will replace the bowling alley, we know it's prime real estate in East Hampton Village.

Located at 71 Montauk Highway, across from Red Horse Plaza and next to Buckley's Flower Shop to the west and Spa 27 and FlyWheel to the east, the East Hampton Bowl property is zoned for commercial use.

The possibilities for the space are numerous, according to Larry Cantwell, who retiring from his post as Village Administrator soon. "It is zoned commercial and a number of uses are permitted depending on the size of the building, parking, health department requirements, etc.  such as retail, restaurant, offices, etc.," he said by email on Tuesday.
