Bobby Flay Throws Down: Says He's Not Taking Over Espresso in Sag Harbor

However, Espresso is still closing up shop.

Bobby Flay won't be opening a restaurant in Sag Harbor, after all.

Back in December, Jennifer Gould Kiel at The New York Post reported the Food Network chef was in discussions to take over Espresso Italian Market & Grill, a Sag Harbor Village favorite eatery.

However, Flay retweeted a tweet from Gould Keil on Twitter that the rumors were false.

Flay also gave a statement to The Express via email where he denied the rumors. Even though he has a house in nearby Amagansett and that he loves Sag Harbor, Flay told The Express he'd never even been to Espresso's.

The eatery has been open since 1993.

The Express also got confirmation that rumors that Citarella Gourmet Market was taking over Schiavoni's Market in Sag Harbor were also false.
