360° East Opens At Montauk Downs

This week marked the opening of 360° East at Montauk Downs.

The banquet space at the state park golf course re-opened on April 1 under the new name. Lessing’s Hospitality Group leased the space for 10 years and plans to host weddings, social affairs and corporate events.

Named for its panoramic views of Montauk Lake, 360° East at Montauk Downs also overlooks the Robert Trent Jones-designed 18-hole golf course. The ballroom, which can accommodate up to 350 guests for a standing cocktail party or 225 for a seat dinner, features a high vaulted wood-planked ceilings and dark round chandeliers hang throughout the venue and a giant stone fireplace. There are floor-to-ceiling windows and a wrap-around patio.

Lessing’s operates other venues on Long Island, such as Bourne Mansion, in Oakdale and Mansion at Timber Point in Great River, as well as restaurants like Mirabelle in Stony Brook, VIEW in Oakdale, Finnegan’s in Huntington and Library Café in Farmingdale.

“We are excited to expand the depth and breadth of our catering arm and stretch further out east into the Hamptons,” Michael Lessing, COO of Lessing’s, said on Friday.

"We welcome 360° East as another venue for catered affairs and events. I'm looking forward to working with them this season and in the future," Laraine Creegan, the executive director of the Montauk Chamber of Commerce, said.

360° East at Montauk Downs can cater parties at the golf course or at another off-site location, such as Hither Hills Beach, atop the Montauk bluffs, or at the base of the historic Montauk Point Lighthouse.

At the helm, executive chef Guy Reuge, a recipient of the prestigious La Toque d’Argent (the Silver Toque) by the Maitres Cuisiniers de France, who declared him “Chef of the Year” in 2006.

Cost begins at $89 per person. Smaller catered events start at $35.95 and deluxe golf packages are also available for $49.95 to $77.95.

Residents can check out the space shortly, as 360º will offer a Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Sunday brunch. A weekly brunch will take place during the summer season after Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
