Jazz Band Hits High Notes in D.C.

The East Hampton High School Jazz Band and Orchestra, with directors Marilyn Van Scoyoc and Troy Grindle, traveled to Washington D.C. on April 26th and met with Congressman Timothy Bishop. They also had a tour of the U.S. Capitol Building and sat in the Gallery of the House of Representatives. They performed at a Festival of Music at Northern Virginia Community College where the Jazz Band received a rating of “Superior” and the Orchestra received a rating of “Excellent.” The groups also visited the Smithsonian and took a cruise on the Potomac River on the Spirit of Washington.
