Search Is Underway In Indonesia For Dashiel Marder
Family says he went missing while diving.
Dashiel Marder, a 30-year-old Springs native and well known spear fishermen, went missing while diving in Indonesian waters.
According to a statement from the Marder family, Dashiel Marder was in a remote area of Nihiwatu off the southwest coast of Solor in the East Nusa Tenggara. They received news of his disappearance on Wednesday.
"Dashiel is deeply loved and widely known, and we realize that everyone is anxious for information," his family wrote in the statement. "Though the situation is serious, as of this morning, the search is still ongoing, and everyone agrees that Dash deserves our respect, focus, and attention, as do the people on site who are participating in this effort.
"We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience and consideration during this extremely difficult time."

Dashiel Marder is an East Hampton High School and Coastal Carolina University graduate.
