50th Wedding Anniversay Ideas

Tips on how to create a elegant 50th anniversary party.

The golden anniversary is one of the most celebrated of all wedding anniversaries. Spending a half century in love with one person is a wonderful statement about the gift of married life. The 50th anniversary color is, well.. gold. It is said that gold symbolizes optimism and wealth. Did you know that violets are the anniversary flower?

Here are a few key considerations to take into account when planning the celebration. First you need to consider the guest list and what venu will comfortably accommodate those guests. Will it be at someones home, a Church, a rented hall, or a restaurant? Will it be casual or formal? Along with those questions you need to consider your budget. And lastly, who will be preparing the food for the party, your family caterer, or a restaurant.

Here are some Decorating tips

. Place white linens on your tables and then place a gold runner across table.

. Serve golden colored sparkling wine

. Purchase gold napkins

. Use gold vases for your flower centerpieces.

. Sprinkle gold glitter on your guests tables.

Another great idea would be to record music from their hayday and play the music throughout the party. How about a first dance to their favorite song? Make sure you have a guest sign in book. How about a wedding picture you can blow up to poster size or maybe a bouqet toss? Why not talk with your local bakery about creating a replica of their wedding cake. Did you know you can request a congratulatory card from the White House? ( Please allow 6 weeks before party date ) Also don't forget to have a videographer or someone from the family record that special day.

So whether you're a family member looking to celebrate a loved ones 50th anniversary, or you are the lucky couple there are so many great party ideas for this milestone. To those who have been married 50 years or more. I look at you with admiration. I'm sure you must be an inspiration to your family and friends.

Another thing to do is to gather photos and scan them and make a slideshow of the happy couple and their families through the years ... and project it WITH music of the time, on a screen during the party! Or, have it shown on a loop on a laptop on a table for folks to see!
