Taylor Swift and Steven Spielberg Dine at East Hampton Grill

Dinner Sparks Casting Rumors

The country singer Taylor Swift and Steven Spielberg were spotted at the East Hampton Grill on Monday night it was reported in The New York Post. The two were joined by Spielberg’s wife, the actress Kate Capshaw, their daughter Jessica, and a handful of friends and staffers. The sighting has prompted speculation that Swift, who recently filmed “The Giver” for the Weinstein Company, with co-stars Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Jeff Bridges, is slated for a role in an upcoming Spielberg movie.

Spielberg has found inspiration for his films on the East End before. Most notably for the character of Quint, based on Montauk fisherman Frank Mundus, in the 1975 movie Jaws. Mundus pioneered the sport of shark fishing and later became a voice for conservation of the species.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that Spielberg and Swift were introduced earlier in the year at a charity gala. This time the impetus behind their get together was Capshaw who invited Swift and her friends to join them for dinner.
