Springs Resident Shooting for Stardom

27East article profiles Lilly Merat, a Springs resident making a second stab at Fox's "The X Factor."

As the saying goes, if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again.

And that's just what Springs resident Lilly Merat is doing, according to a 27East article.

The article states that after an a capella group she was part of - The Sonneteers - didn't make the final cut this past summer to make it onto the Fox TV show "The X Factor," the 22-year-old is making a solo stab at it, awaiting word after she sent an audition tape to the show in late December.

Melanie Amaro was crowned the winner of season one of the American version of the series on Dec. 22.

Merat recalled the audition - which she flew to Seattle for, along with 10 other vocalists - saying that host Simon Cowell used the word "wonderful" to describe her after she sang a solo.
