Paula Poundstone to Perform at Bay Street Aug. 19

Award-winning stand-up comedian is heading to Sag Harbor for a night of laughs.

Coming up Aug. 19 at Bay Street Theatre's Monday night Comedy Club series, Paula Poundstone, one of Comedy Central’s 100 greatest stand-ups of all time, performs her act.

"Poundstone is legendary for her ability to interact spontaneously with audience members in conversations that garner riotous laughter," according to the theater in Sag Harbor.

She is a regular panelist on NPR's "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" and has had comedy specials on HBO and Bravo. The Comedy Hall of Fame inductee is the author of "There’s Nothing in This Book That I Meant to Say" and the comedy albums "I Heart Jokes: Paula Tells Them in Boston" and "I Heart Jokes: Paula Tells Them in Maine."

Poundstone voiced characters on the kids show "Science Court" and on the Adult Swim cartoon "Home Movies" and has worked on "The Tonight Show" and "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."

Her stand-up career began in 1979 in Boston, and she has since gone on to win the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-Up Comic
