Former House Majority Leader in Montauk

Virginia Politician Eric Cantor at Montauk's Hideaway Restaurant

Eric Cantor, the former Republican House Majority Leader from Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, who lost his bid for re-election on June 10, was seen in Montauk Sunday evening at the Hideaway restaurant despite having been criticized by GOP insiders who blamed his loss in part to his having “spent too much time on the road and in the Hamptons” it was reported in The New York Post

Since last month, Cantor has been spending more time than ever on the East End. Besides the sighting in Montauk, where he made a low-key arrival to the modest harbor-side counter-service restaurant accompanied by four security guards according to  Pop Trend, Cantor has made two other public appearances in the Hamptons. He spoke at an election fundraiser for New York State Senate Republican hopeful Lee Zeldin and at the Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach.
